We’ve found our home from home. A new fortnightly residency at the iconic Spiritland in London starts on Sunday 20th February. It’s a daytime session starting at lunchtime. Beyond excited to play on the world class sound system and to meet friends old and new. We’ll have DJ’s the Chill Out Tent regulars Chris Coco, Matt Nearest Faraway Place and surprise guests. We’ll be sharing the UK premier of an awesome film & music project from Japanese producer Ide Yasushi of the Grand Gallery label, “Cosmic Suite” is a collaboration with a host of iconic musicians including the legendary Jeff Mills, Osunlade, Mutabaruka, Tanaka Tomoyuki (FPM), Yashiki Gōta and Watusi (Coldfeet), among others. The Cosmic suite is a mix of music genres from jazz to house, reggae, techno with visuals directed by respected film maker Kazuya Kitaoka. It’s quite a trip, make sure you join us on the 31st!
We welcome Ibiza’s Dubtropical All Stars to our Chill Out Tent Edition #8 this weekend, they’ll be bringing some much needed sunshine and Summer to our dark and damp northern hemisphere winter, but who are they?
Originating from a pool of pro musicians backing a duo of two likeminded, Ibiza based DJs (that’s George Solar and Sadeedo) for their weekly summer residency, the Dubtropical Allstars became way more than just local balearic heroes more or less overnight & by accident.
For a special appearance of dancehall reggae legend Johnny Osbourne during the annual Ibiza Reggae Festival in 2019, the gang found themselves booked as Johnny’s backing band for the night and had three weeks to inhale on the better part of the Studio One catalog in order to not just do the job properly but instead rise to the occasion with bells on
Ever since, the eight band members have formed a tight unit on common ground, constantly morphing between freestyle funk-dub-jazz sessions, authentic reggae cover versions and organic original material.
“Live from the bubble yard” was recorded in the cozy backyard of the band’s recording studio during preparation of their first EP. The special excerpt edition for the Chillout Tent allows for a simple band’s eye view peek from the Algaroba tree overlooking that yard, as if you were there on that warm, sunny October afternoon somewhere deep in the Ibiza campo, crickets, chickens and all.
Paying tribute to some of their biggest musical influences (like Bob Marley and Herbie Hancock) plus presenting the most chill of their original compositions, the Dubtropical Allstars invite you into their yard for a spliff & a cuppa.

We’ll be exploring this fanatical scene in our screening of Maurizio Clemente’s ‘Italo House Story’ documentary, streaming at 19:00 BST on our our usual channels
We’re super happy to have Balearic legends Coyote as one of our headliners for this weekend’s Edition 4 of the Chill Out Tent, they’ll be streaming from 21:00 BST. In keeping with our format of pairing musicians & DJ’s with film makers and visual artists, Coyote have collaborated with artist and animator Mark Warrington to create some stunning visuals to accompany their set.
Fans of Paul ‘Mudd’ Murphy’s Claremont 56 label will instantly recognise Marks beautiful paintings, where they’ve been used as some of the most stunning sleeve art in contemporary music. Below you can see an animated short Mark has created of his work with the label. Buy Mark’s work here.
Coyote are the DJs / Producers Timm Sure & Richard Hampson (aka Ampo).
Since their first meeting (after both becoming residents at the historically important club “Venus” in Nottingham), between them they spent the 90s’ with residencies at many of the decades seminal parties. Coyote officially came into being in 2004, when Timm and Ampo decided to start making music together. Since then they’ve released a gorgeous catalogue of sun drenched down tempo, both on their own ‘Is It Balearic?’ label and more recently via Music for Dreams. The mix below will give you an idea of what we can expect this evening.
