The Chill Out Tent

Chill Out Tent came of age at We Are Love festival this year. Here’s a big thank you to everyone who came, a few highlights and some stuff to continue enjoying the experience at home

Thank you: To everyone who played, performed, poured, danced, chatted, or chilled in The Chill Out Tent at We Are Love. It was a wonderful gathering of our community that felt like the coming together of four years of plans, hopes and dreams.

To our party starters: Mad Professor, Wildblood & Queenie, For Mankind, and Balearic Ultras (ably assisted by our very own Chris Coco and birthday boy Ben GC). Bringing together Brighton, Brixton and Ibiza; dub, house and disco, is kinda what The Chill Out Tent is all about. (When we’re not, like, seriously chillin’;-)

We Are The Children of the Sun: We will devote our next newsletter to a series of sets from the weekend and here’s a taster. On Saturday afternoon, Paul Hillery played a blissful set of folk funk from his trippy troubadours. Click on the photo to listen.

Chill Out Tent, the Movie: Here’s some of the highlights. This is the Director’s Cut.

The Chill Out Tent at home: Chris has compiled this lovely CD, which perfectly encapsulates the Chill Out Tent vibe. I popped it on as soon as I got home from We Are Love and the festival continued merrily in my lounge.

Sorted for teas and tunez: Thank you to the extended Chill Out Tent crew and all our wonderfully talented performers. In order of appearance: Gethin Segel, Graeme Ross, Hayley Shoesmith, Louise Murphy, Amrit, Matt Nearest Faraway, Laroye, Catherine Arnold, Howler, Carl Loben, Ty, Dean ‘Sunshine’ Smith, Tom Baxter, Cameron Saul, Phil Mison, Richard Norris, Stuart Sandeman, Mike Tate, Fukushima Dolphin and Wrekin’ Havoc. You’re all brilliant.

To all our dancers and chillers: Inspired by some wonderful music and other delights. You all filled the Tent with your warmth, big big love, and sometimes, as the night wore on, quite wild vibes. We love you! Please come back!!
